With a switch to a new phone, I have taken the decision to fully get rid of X/Twitter. So can we please make **this here to place to be** for the perfect mix of academia talk and misc stuff? Currently I feel that LinkedIn is winning the X/Twitter replacement game for exchange about new research etc. But I'd much prefer to have this conversation here. In my experience LinkedIn is generally the best place to advertise your final work, but Mastodon is better for engaging conversations and development of ideas.

@anderspuck oh yes, that’s well out and resonates with my experience. Though the level of exchange and serendipity here is way lower than my experience was with Twitter.
