Every time Dark Side Of The Moon gets "remastered" I keep expecting the weird warp of the piano fade-out on Great Gig In The Sky to get fixed, and every time I'm disappointed.

I always find it less interesting to moan about the authenticity of a word, and instead look up what forces inspired its creation.

In this case, it's a mixing of "regardless" and "irrespective": two words that can be used as synonyms for "nevertheless".

I was in my 30s when I finally realised that people who said "miss-CHEE-vee-uss" weren't cleverly mixing "mischievous" and "devious", but actually just misreading the vowel soup in the middle of the word "mischievous".

And then there's the change of "decimated" from "destroyed one-tenth" to "destroyed utterly". It *sounds* like a good destructive word, like "macerated" or "eviscerated", and does the English language still really *need* a word for "destroyed one-tenth of"?

Then there's the "I could care less" vs "I couldn't care less" moaners. The whole point of these phrases is that they're UNFINISHED. You can take either one and finish it out as ironic or sincere, with different conditionals on the situation where the speaker cares more or less. Let people talk.
